Yesterday (July 11), Muhyiddin Yassin urged Hadi Awang to refer the matter to his secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan for clarification, claiming it was the latter who drafted the agreement.   (Focus Malaysia) – UMNO veteran Tan Sri Shahrir Samad challenged Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to withdraw support from the Government, given that his party has not been given the deputy prime ministership despite a secret agreement.
“Logically speaking, Muhyiddin and his party should withdraw support just like how he threatened to ‘press the button’ on the Barisan Nasional-Perikatan Nasional state governments of Melaka and Johor before elections were called for both states.  
“The agreement and the memorandum of understanding (Mou) is over. Do it now,” he said, in a Facebook post.  
Two weeks ago, Muhyiddin raised eyebrows after meeting Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob to get the latter to appoint a deputy prime minister, several new ministers and directors to Government-linked companies.  
As his move drew criticism amid soaring inflation, Muhyiddin defended his demands by saying that there was an agreement with the prime minister on the matter. However, his own ally, PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang said he was unaware of such a deal.  
Yesterday (July 11), the Pagoh MP urged Hadi to refer the matter to his secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan for clarification, claiming it was the latter who drafted the agreement.  

Why the secrecy?
“Apart from Takiyuddin, others who witnessed the agreement include Ketereh UMNO division chief Tan Sri Annuar Musa and Bersatu secretary-general Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin,” Malaysiakini reported him as saying.
Touching on the matter, Shahrir voiced surprised over the agreement given that even both PAS and UMNO leaderships were kept in the dark.
“But since the agreement has been revealed, has it become null and void? So far, Ismail Sabri, Annuar and Takiyuddin are silent about it.
“Only Muhyiddin and his party had spilt the beans on it,” the former minister remarked.
