Umno Supreme Council member Isham Jalil (left) wants Annuar Musa to clarify whether he was a witness to the alleged agreement over the deputy prime minister’s post.PETALING JAYA: Umno Supreme Council member Isham Jalil has urged Ketereh MP Annuar Musa to clear the air regarding an alleged agreement between Perikatan Nasional (PN) and Ismail Sabri Yaakob for the deputy prime minister’s post.
Annuar, the communications and multimedia minister, had been alleged to have witnessed the signing of the agreement.
“Maybe Annuar Musa could comment whether this is true or not because Bersatu leaders mentioned his name and the agreement had his signature,” Isham said in a statement today.
“If it is true, I want to know if he consulted with the party and Supreme Council members before signing the agreement.”

Annuar had declined to comment in an Utusan Malaysia report earlier.
Yesterday, PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan admitted to drafting a “memorandum of agreement” between PN and Ismail for the deputy prime minister’s post in August 2021.
He said he was asked to draft all law-related documents since he was the law minister then.
He also said he was unsure if PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang had known about the memorandum.
Isham believed that Takiyuddin did not ask Hadi before drafting the agreement, adding that such “side-dealing” could damage the party.
He said the agreement should not have been kept hidden because it not only involved MPs in the government but also had a huge impact on the political parties themselves.
“If it is not true (that an agreement had been signed), please clarify,” he said. - FMT
