Don T Burden 1mdb Debts Repayments On Taxpayers Get Bossku S Sympathisers Glorifiers To Settle Them

AS incarcerated former premier Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s legal bid over a ‘royal addendum’ allowing him to serve the remainder of his jail sentence under house arrest remains alive and will be fully heard at the High Court, his detractors are calling for those who “miss the Bossku era” to repay the 1MDB debts amassed by him.
This came about after the Finance Ministry (MOF) revealed in a Dewan Rakyat question and answer reply that funds amounting to RM42.17 bil has been channelled to finance 1MDB’s debt repayments and meet its financial commitments as of July 31.
Responding to a query from Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Dr Wan Ismail (PH-Bandar Tun Razak) on recovery of public funds since 2022, including those linked to high-profile cases such as 1MDB, MOF said the outstanding debt comprising Islamic medium-term notes (IMTN) principal and interest payments up to 2039 amounts to RM9.02 bil.
“I’ll never forgive that family. We’ve suffered so much on their behalf. They haven’t suffered on earth enough,” berated harizan (@Hrznsrd) in response to a post by Madani news bearer Jason Yew (@jasonyew) who highlighted MOF’s update on the status of 1MDB debts.
In fact, the remarks triggered raw nerve with the anti-Bossku faction objecting to the use of taxpayers’ money to repay debts incurred from the 1MDB scandal.
For starters, shouldn’t the debt settlement obligation rest with his family wealth with him and his son even have the indecency to owe the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) RM1.7 bil in tax arrears?

After all, as the poster asserted, the current state of collapsing healthcare, lack of resources for the education system, abysmal infrastructure and community that hinders a good quality life are attributable to the re-allocation of what would be development funds to repay 1MDB debts.

One ingenious commenter mooted the idea that the 1MDB debt repayment is “deducted from all Najib supporters’ accounts, including from UMNO’s party accounts”.

As expected, Bossku’s sympathisers would defend their idol by likening the1MDB debt to “bank loans” to finance projects that benefit the country, ie the The Exchange TRX which is touted as a world-class experiential lifestyle destination.
Sone even diverted the attention to questioning why fugitive financier Jho Low @ Low Taek Jho who is oft-described as the mastermind of the 1MDB scandal is still on the loose when the fact remains that “Bossku Najib Razak had done more good than bad for Malaysia”.
“Under his leadership, our economy was strong and there were no scammers like now. Our crime rate has risen to 8% in 2025 – the highest in a decade!” one diehard fan observed.
On the flip-side, one even regarded 1MDB as “literally spurring the economy, too”.
“Just list down what assets and money you got from 1MDB? It should be surplus. Can’t pay the debt? Just sell TRX and the land in Penang. Last year, they sold RM12n of Bandar Malaysia land to KLCC Property Holdings Bhd”.

At the end of the day, one commenter feared that even if all the debts have been settled and Bossku is freed, there is no guarantee that he would not create “another debt if he’s given power again”.
