Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) has announced that they are discontinuing parking machines and are turning to cashless payment options and e-wallets beginning 1 October
According to a statement on Facebook, DBKL stated that the contract of use for the parking machines ended on 30 September and encouraged everyone to get used to the new payment methods.
Moving forward, road users will now have to pay for their parking bays in the city entirely online
The city council is also working towards including Boost and Touch ‘n Go e-wallets for the convenience of users.
They, too, promised that daily and monthly passes will be rolled out when the system is upgraded.
These are the four applications and e-wallets recommended by the city council:
1. EZ Smart Park
This app is used purely to pay for parking in Kuala Lumpur. Top up the wallet and type in the number plate of your vehicle to start paying.
It will automatically detect the location that you are at. It also lists the parking rate of all the different districts in the city if you need to check them before you park.
2. Flexi Parking
This app covers parking areas in not only Kuala Lumpur but also Selangor, Terengganu, and Kelantan.
You can use this app to pay for parking as well as parking summonses from the city councils of these different states.
3. Wilayah Parking
This app has the exact same interface as Flexi Parking, and the same account can be used for both apps.
4. MyMCash
You can use this e-wallet not just to pay for parking, but also to pay for your phone, water, and electricity bills.
This app has been rolled out to for use in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Kelantan, and Terengganu. Says
