Dap Blames Umno For Pakatan Government S Collapse

(The Mole) – February 24, 2020: DAP has blamed Umno over the collapse of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government that came to power 21 months ago.
DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng today claimed that Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad had to resign as prime minister (PM) because the latter was against the idea of cooperating with Umno to form a new government.
“Tun rejects such a treacherous ploy that undermines the people’s mandate for PH and therefore, he resigns as PM and Bersatu chairman. He did it out of integrity and principle. He does not want to work with Umno.
“This is pure political opportunism. To those who indulge in such activities, shame on you. DAP condemns those involved in the move to enact a backdoor government. The new party to replace PH is called National Alliance.
“It is made-up of Umno, Pas, MCA, MIC, certain leaders in Pribumi Bersatu and those who were fired from PKR led by Azmin Ali (PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Azmin Ali).
“DAP would like to propose to the PH presidential council, which will hold an emergency meeting tonight, for the re-nomination of Dr Mahathir as PM again,” said Lim at a press conference today.
Dr Mahathir has today resigned as PM amidst intense speculation over a new government that inched closer to reality yesterday when Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah met several top party leaders at Istana Negara.
The PH government has essentially collapsed today following the departure of Pribumi Bersatu and the resignation of 11 PKR members of parliament (MP) from the party.
PH and its partners Warisan and Upko are now left with only 102 MPs, short of 10 MPs needed to form the minimum majority of 112.
The coalition originally had 139 MPs in the 222-seat Parliament, comprising of PKR (50), DAP (42), Bersatu (26) in those of its partners Warisan (9) and Upko (1).
Pribumi Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin today announced the exit of the party from PH, thus depriving PH of its 26 MPs.
