Bukit Aman says the content has the potential to incite hatred and cause public anxiety or fear.

Bukit Aman criminal investigation department (CID) director M Kumar said the investigation is being conducted under Section 4(1) of the Sedition Act 1948, Section 505(b) of the Penal Code, and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998, Bernama reported.
“It involves the offence of improper use of network facilities and services, as well as content that has the potential to incite hatred against any party and cause public anxiety or fear,” he said in a statement today.
“The spread of unverified content could affect the efficiency and smooth conduct of the police investigation.”
Kumar also urged the public to refrain from sharing unverified information, warning that it can cause confusion within the community.
Zara was found unconscious at 4am on July 16 after she allegedly fell from the third floor of her school’s hostel in Papar, Sabah. She died at the Queen Elizabeth I Hospital in Kota Kinabalu the next day.
Last Wednesday, Kumar was reported to have said that the officer in charge of investigating Zara’s death failed to follow proper procedure by not requesting a post-mortem.
He said Zara’s death occurred under suspicious circumstances, in which a post-mortem was warranted.
Earlier, Zara’s body was exhumed, under orders from the Attorney-General’s Chambers, for a post-mortem to be carried out. - FMT
