China Tourist Nabbed For Alleged Prostitution In Sabah

KOTA KINABALU: A China tourist who came to Sabah about two weeks ago has been nabbed for allegedly prostituting herself for money
Kota Kinabalu police chief Asst Comm Habibi Majinji said the 37-year-old was arrested at a reflexology centre here at about 11.45pm on Aug 18
He said the woman told police she had started working as a masseur at the reflexology and offered sexual services for RM200 per session to earn money for a return ticket to China
“She is also believed to be working without a permit, ” he said.
ACP Habibi said the woman is being investigated for soliciting and under the Immigration Act.
In an unrelated case, an 18-year-old teenager claimed she was molested by an unknown man, while on her way to the hospital on Aug 18.The girl had taken a bus from Kota Belud district to the city here, and was supposed to be dropped at the hospital but the bus driver told his passengers to get another ride upon reaching the Bandaran Berjaya bus stop as he had some urgent matters to attend to
The girl and another person then hitched a ride with an illegal taxi driver
ACP Habibi said the girl sat in the front passenger’s seat and after the car driver dropped the other passenger off, he then drove in another direction although the girl had told him that she needed to go to the hospital
He drove to a hilly secluded area and allegedly started touching the girl’s thigh
“She scolded him and lied to him saying she is engaged and showed him a photo of her brother, ” he said
The suspect then said that he knows the man in the picture and that they were high school friends from Kota Belud
ACP Habibi said the suspect then sent her to the hospital where she worked as a canteen operator
The girl told her brother about the incident and he advised her to lodge a police report
“An arrest was made on the same day, at about 2.05pm, ” he said.- Star
