Childish Akmal Finds His Match Trading Blows Online With Bootlicker Umno Senior Nazri Aziz

GET your popcorn and coke ready for ‘notorious’ UMNO Youth chief may have finally found his match in ex-US envoy Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Aziz with a showdown in the offing.
Baby boomer and Generation X Malaysians who follow Malaysian politics would jolly well recall that the 71-year-old four-term Padang Rengas MP (2004-2018) who is still the UMNO division chairman in his former constituency is a no push-over judging from the once ‘gangster’ reputation accorded to him by detractors.
As it is, Akmal has not taken kindly his party veteran having branded him as “being childish” after he accused the latter as being a “bootlicker” who sucks up to the Madani government for hailing the leadership of PMX Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and wanting to ensure that the PKR president remains in Putrajaya after the 16th General Election (GE16).

For the unanimated, the war of words erupted between the duo after Nazri dismissed Akmal as a future prime ministerial candidate while claiming that the Merlimau state assemblyman did not represent the majority voice of the part to which the latter found offensive.
Since then, their exchanges see no sign of abating – probably to the joy of his haters – when Akmal who probably found his ego bruised, fired back that he would be “more willing to be childish than to be a bootlicker just to look after his own interests”.
“But I want to remind Datuk Seri that I became an EXCO because I was elected by the people and even then, you didn’t contribute in anyway, let alone help in my campaign,” the Melaka Rural Development, Agriculture and Food Security committee chairman rebutted on his Facebook page.
“Therefore, I was appointed by the people, not appointed by means of bootlicking the leaders. I wish to correct your sentence in that you actually bootlicked for personal gain instead of helping others … the younger generation would perceive your response as koyak (Malay slang to mean “foolish answer”). Keep licking!”
In defending himself after being labelled a “sycophant”, Nazri told Malaysiakini that the insult came because Akmal could not counter his argument that he only represented a minority of his party and the Malays.
“Akmal’s response to my statement shows a childish attitude and low-mindedness. His response did not properly address what I said,” asserted the former Tourism and Culture Minister.
“I said that he doesn’t represent the Malays or UMNO itself. He should have countered my statement with the right facts but instead called me a ‘bootlicker’. Is that the kind of reaction expected from a youth chief?” – Focus Malaysia
