Celebrating Dap Is Worse Than Celebrating Christmas
Khalil did not ask Muslims to oppose the Bible. He was just telling Muslims what the Qur’an says. Kit Siang, however, is inciting Malaysians to oppose Islam and the Qur’an. So, Muslims who celebrate DAP are far worse than Muslims who celebrate Christmas, especially since Christmas is no longer attached to religious beliefs but is about how shops can make more money selling you stuff you do not need.
THE CORRIDORS OF POWER
Raja Petra Kamarudin
(MMO, 24 Dec 2018) – PAS Youth chief Muhammad Khalil Abdul Hadi yesterday warned Muslims not to celebrate Christmas as it is against the teachings of Islam.
Sinar Harian reported Muhammad Khalil as reminding Muslims not to be part of the celebrations tomorrow because it was an acknowledgement of the Christian religion.
“Christmas has an element of syirik (heresy/idolatry) which is against Islam’s teaching. They claim that God had a child, which is against our beliefs as Muslims.
“They celebrate Christmas with such elements and claim that Prophet Isa (Jesus) is the son of God,” he reportedly said during a lecture in Kuala Terengganu last night.

400 years ago King Charles 1 banned the celebration of Christmas and jailed shopkeepers who closed their shops on 25th December
Khalil Hadi stirred a storm when on Christmas Eve he told Muslims that celebrating the birthday of Jesus goes against Islamic teachings, not that Jesus was born on the 25th of December anyway.
Personally, I do not see any need for Khalil to have said that because there are many other worse things Muslims should be warned about (plus because Muslims have already been warned about this for 1,000 years since the time of the Crusades).
In England, many people do not believe in God and have never stepped foot in church. Yet these people also celebrate Christmas — even if they are atheists and will laugh at you if you say you believe in God.
Hence Christmas is celebrated on the 25th of December just like Guy Fawkes Day on 5th November, Valentine’s Day on 14th February, Halloween on 31st October, New Year’s Day on 1st January, or your birthday, and so on. All these celebrations have nothing to do with religion.
In fact, King Charles 1 of England was the first person to ban the celebration of Christmas about 400 years ago in the 1600s (because, as Khalil said, it is syirik or heresy). Shopkeepers who closed their shops on 25th December were arrested. The Puritans eventually ousted Charles and chopped off his head in 1649 and, for a short while, England was turned into a republic until his son was brought back from France to be crowned as King Charles II in 1660.
Christmas is about shops making money
More importantly, it is the right of Khalil Hadi to preach to Muslims what he believes to be true (just like it is the right of Christians to preach that Jesus is the son of God even though the Qur’an says this is not true). He was not telling the non-Muslims to not celebrate Christmas. He was telling the Muslims what he believes Islam has ordained. So why are the non-Muslims like Lim Kit Siang getting upset? Is Kit Siang a Muslim?
Kit Siang tells Malaysians to oppose the Shariah. In Islam, the Shariah is perceived as laws ordained by God or Allah. To oppose God’s edicts means to oppose the Qur’an. Hence Kit Siang is asking Malaysians to oppose the Qur’an and this incites DAP people like Ben Singh to bark and foam at the mouth like mad dogs when he meets Muslims.
Khalil is not asking Muslims to oppose the Bible like DAP is asking Malaysians to oppose the Qur’an
