PAS information chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari has fired back at DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke, who recently accused PAS of wanting to dominate political coalitions.
“Loke should buy a big mirror and look at DAP’s own face,” Fadhli (above) said in a statement today.
He pointed to DAP’s past move to cut ties with PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang during the Pakatan Rakyat era, while still maintaining relations with the party.
“Even though that’s an old story, many still remember how DAP decided to end ties with the PAS president but continued with PAS. You can refer to reports at the time,” he added.
ADSThe Pasir Mas MP said this in response to Loke’s remarks as reported by Utusan Malaysia, on strained ties between PAS and Bersatu over Perikatan Nasional’s prime minister candidate.
Within party channels
Fadhli contrasted the relationship between PAS and Bersatu with that of DAP and Umno, noting that despite differences over the prime ministerial candidate, the PAS-Bersatu discussion remained within party channels.

“Even if not in one formal coalition, in several recent by-elections, DAP and Umno agreed not to clash. That is what you call a political coalition,” he said.
Fadhli further noted the lack of top Umno leaders who defended Umno Youth chief Dr Akmal Saleh when he was allegedly “attacked and humiliated” by DAP over his remarks protesting the Merdeka-month Jalur Gemilang gaffes.
“Doesn’t that mean DAP is the dominant one? No WhatsApp group? No negotiation table? The truth is there is - but to show dominance, DAP made a public statement that nationwide police reports would be lodged against the Umno Youth chief,” he claimed.
Umno-DAP cracks widening
Fadhli also claimed that several Umno divisions in the Federal Territories have cut ties with the DAP.
“Eh, who is in conflict here? Whose house is falling apart?” he asked.
He ended his statement with a parting shot: “Loke, buy a mirror.”
Contrary to Fadhli’s claim against DAP, Batu Umno had this week severed its relationship with Harapan due to dissatisfaction with PKR’s Batu MP P Prabakaran, over the allocation of sub-zones under the Residents’ Representative Council. - Mkini
