Business As Usual Pas Attends Another Meet Of Muhyiddin S Loose Coalition
It's business as usual between PAS and embattled Perikatan Nasional chief Muhyiddin Yassin.
PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man yesterday attended a meeting of the 11-party loose coalition spearheaded by Muhyiddin, which now calls itself Ikatan Prihatin Rakyat (IPR).
This comes a month after PAS expressed its intentions to take over leadership of PN, amid a plot within Muhyiddin's party Bersatu to replace him as president.
Muhyiddin's camp in Bersatu had consolidated its power yesterday, suspending Machang MP Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad and sacking Tasek Gelugor MP Wan Saiful Wan Jan and four others - all of whom were allegedly aligned with Bersatu deputy president Hamzah Zainudin.
Besides Tuan Ibrahim and Muhyiddin, those present at the IPR meeting were mostly the chiefs of the nine other parties in the pact, including Dominic Lau (Gerakan), P Ramasamy (Urimai), Mukhriz Mahathir (Pejuang), and Amira Aisya Abdul Aziz (Muda).

PN and Bersatu secretary-general Azmin Ali was also at the meeting.
Budget, school violence
In a joint statement, IPR said it discussed a multitude of topics, from Budget 2026 to the recent spate of school violence.
On the budget, the group briefly said the measures tabled by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim did not help alleviate the people's burden.

On violence in schools, the group called on the Education Ministry to revamp the education system. It also wants MCMC to do a better job at controlling the spread of violent content - including bullying - on social media.
IPR announced it will be organising a congress early next year to stress its stand on national issues. - Mkini
