Bossku Supporters Taking Advantage Of Polls For Own Gain Najib S Son

Najib Abdul Razak’s son Mohd Nazifuddin has taken a swipe at the former premier’s supporters for exploiting the upcoming state elections for their benefit.
This came after “Bossku supporters”, referring to Najib’s infamous moniker, openly declared support for Perikatan Nasional (PN) ahead of the polls in the six states.
Citing Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s silence in his bid to seek “justice for Najib”, the group yesterday said it has lost faith in the former.
In response, Nazifuddin, the Langkawi Umno division chief, said the upcoming elections and upholding justice for Najib are two separate issues.
“Right now, due to the state elections schedules and events, people are taking advantage of it for their own gains.
“As a family, we are consistent in our beliefs for my father. That is to get justice for him and he still (has) eight ongoing cases.
“We believe that he will triumph and there will be a way for him to seek retrial or pardon to release him,” he told Malaysiakini after attending the Kedah unity candidate introduction and manifesto launch in Sungai Petani, Kedah, last night.
Najib is serving a 12-year jail term from last August for criminal breach of trust, abuse of power and money laundering involving state-owned SRC International Sdn Bhd.
With all legal avenues exhausted, the former Pekan MP’s only hope for freedom is through a royal pardon.
‘We are part of this government’
While expressing gratitude towards his father’s supporters for their love and support, Nazifuddin stressed that representations outside their family do not truly represent what Najib has in mind.
“There are a lot of supporters that claim that they represent my father.
“But as a family, we are helping out candidates of the current government. We want a stable (federal) government to continue with the new states established under the coalition government.
“We are part of this government, most of my family are with Umno and we want to see this government continue to create a stable country and move forward to bring back a positive economy,” he added.
Nooryana NajwaPreviously, Nazifuddin and his sister Nooryana Najwa voiced concerns that Najib’s supporters may not go to the polls, claiming they are growing increasingly impatient and wanted more concrete efforts by the government to uphold justice for Najib.
The siblings acknowledged that “it was not an easy task to persuade” the supporters, who form the majority of BN members.
Yesterday, “Bossku supporters”, led by Syed Muhammad Imran S N Syed Abdul Aziz, said they are disappointed with Zahid for being “cowardly quiet” and have no desire to seek justice for Najib.
Syed Muhammad Imran also accused Zahid of continuously using them for support by riding on Najib’s name.
“We, the supporters of Bossku, are not bound to any other individual.
"But as Umno members, we have lost faith in Zahid because he made it seem like Umno belonged to certain individuals; anyone who voiced an opposing opinion would be fired or suspended,” he said.
A referendum
He is hopeful that PN is ready to cooperate with them to get justice for Najib.
"We call on our members to join us in supporting PN. Let's make these state elections a referendum and a vote of no confidence towards Zahid.
"We hope the support for PN will restore justice to Najib in accordance with the law.
“We hope PN will be able to bring back the unity of ummah and reject the dominance of DAP, who is the traditional enemy of Umno," he said. - Mkini
