Attacking Rivals Pas Info Chief Cites Art Of Consideration
PAS MUKTAMAR | Make "dynamic" considerations before attacking Umno, but be more "offensive" towards DAP and Harapan, said PAS information chief Khairil Nizam Khirudin.
He said this in response to criticisms raised by delegates at the 68th PAS muktamar in their debates of the presidential address.
"There are those who said the Information team did not respond to criticisms from rival leaders. The question is, do we want to respond or not?
"To answer or otherwise requires the art of consideration, and the art also comes with information.
"We are unsettled with the Umno president, but he is in the court process," said the former senator.
Among others, Khairil referred to a series of recent attacks against PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang by Umno leaders, including party president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and information chief Shahril Sufian Hamdan.
At the same time, Khairil said PAS members, including from its Youth and Women wings, are still free to launch attacks in defence of the party.
"But those are the dynamic considerations, on deciding to attack or otherwise," he said.
Contrary to the approach towards Umno, Khairil said PAS could no longer remain in the "defensive mode" when up against rivals from Pakatan Harapan.
"We must be on the offensive and attack DAP and Harapan.
"The biggest issue is the issue of integrity, but not many delegates touch on integrity and corruption in their speeches," said Khairil.
PAS leaders and members gathered for two days at the Kedah PAS Complex, Kota Sarang Semut, have repeatedly raised the issue of maintaining ties with Umno, despite remaining in government with Perikatan Nasional (PN).
PAS also reaffirmed it would reject any cooperation with Harapan, despite initial overtures from PN chairperson Muhyiddin Yassin for all opposition parties to join forces against BN. - Mkini
