Anwar Should Resign Or Go On Leave Pending Lawsuit S Disposal Pas Leader
PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim should resign or go on garden leave over Yusoff Rawther’s civil suit against the premier.
The PAS leader pointed out that Anwar himself, when he was in the opposition, would’ve told other government officials to go on leave if they were involved in legal tangles.
“This is nothing new. In fact, this is exactly what he asked previous ministers to do when they came under the authorities’ radar,” Tuan Ibrahim told the media after an event at Medan Ilmu, Kota Bharu today.
On June 4, the Kuala Lumpur High Court denied Anwar’s bid to suspend the civil lawsuit brought by Yusoff, who has accused him of sexual assault.
In delivering her ruling, High Court judge Roz Mawar Rozain stated that the court had found the eight constitutional questions Anwar had sought to refer to the Federal Court did not meet the required threshold.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and Yusoff RawtherHowever, the Court of Appeal had issued an interim stay on all proceedings on June 10, pending the disposal of the prime minister’s bid for a full stay.
On that note, Tuan Ibrahim said the authorities would be hesitant to launch a probe against Anwar as long as he is in a position of power.
“That’s why he should (at least) go on leave. It’s about perception.
“I’m not saying there would be unfairness, but this is about making sure justice is seen being done,” the Kubang Kerian MP added. - Mkini
