Yes, this is certainly a most interesting turn of events. Anwar and Zahid are playing a psywar game. This “joint-statement” is part of a strategy. But then what is that strategy? And who is it aimed at? I suppose soon we will know the answer to those questions.NO HOLDS BARRED

Anwar Ibrahim’s and Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s “joint-statement”, but issued on two different letterheads — one Barisan Nasional and another Pakatan Harapan — was not a faux pas (unintentional, blunder, mistake, gaff, tersilap, kantoi, etc.). It was done on purpose.
Both Anwar and Zahid are not stupid. They are also veteran politicians with at least 50 years of experience per person under their belt (or 100 years combined). Would people of that calibre make such a blunder?

Zahid used to be Anwar’s hitman back in the 1980s and 1990sIt was intentional. Anwar and Zahid purposely issued identical statements, or two copy-and-paste statements, but under two separate letterheads, as a strategy.
Previously, they issued a statement on one letterhead to His Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong with three signatures (Anwar, Zahid and Najib Razak). This time around, they issued two separate statements on two letterheads, but the statements were basically the same.
This is a message that Pakatan Harapan and Barisan Nasional are ‘united’.
But then who is this ‘message’ meant for? Is it meant for Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin and Perikatan Nasional? Is it meant for those Umno leaders and members of parliament who are still confused as to whether there is a deal between Umno and Pakatan Harapan or not? Or is it meant for the Agong to convince His majesty that Muhyiddin has truly lost his majority in parliament?
