Anwar Confirms Rafizi Attended Recent Top Pkr Meeting
PKR president Anwar Ibrahim today confirmed that his deputy, Rafizi Ramli, was present during a central leadership committee meeting last night.
“Yesterday he (Rafizi) attended,” the prime minister briefly told reporters in Shah Alam.
Asked whether Rafizi (above) had raised any matters during the meeting, Anwar said, “We discussed the (election) results well, Alhamdulillah.”
He was met after a “Temu Anwar” session attended by over 3,000 local and international students from various private universities, where he delivered an address and entertained questions from the floor.

Speculations were rife over Rafizi’s status in the party after his recent move to take leave as economy minister until May 31.
Previously, there were rumours circulating that the election results - which were perceived to have irregular outcomes - had stirred discontent within Rafizi's camp, to the point that it was alleged that the latter was planning to resign from his ministerial post.
Separately, PKR information chief Fahmi Fadzil, who also confirmed Rafizi’s attendance, said the Pandan MP was present to receive feedback on audit findings into the disputed results.
“His attendance was to get feedback from the audit carried out by external auditors on the nomination system.
“As PKR secretary-general Fuziah Salleh mentioned, there were no issues with the system, and after the meeting ended, he (Rafizi) left the meeting venue,” Fahmi told reporters at the launch of the “TV5 Free-to-Air Digital Movie Channel” in Kuala Lumpur.

While Rafizi himself won as Pandan division chief, others who were defeated in upsets include PKR vice-president Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, Youth chief Adam Adli Abd Halim, as well as central leadership committee members Akmal Nasrullah Nasir, Fahmi Zainol, Lee Chean Chung and Rodziah Ismail.
Last night, Malaysiakini reported that, according to a source, PKR's incumbent central leadership committee had decided to accept the disputed division polls results. This was then confirmed by Fuziah this morning.
‘Rafizi accomodating’
Another party source said the hour-long meeting had provided ample opportunities to discuss the disputed results and second audit findings.
“All the findings were presented, the results shared, experts gave their opinions, so that’s it.
“There’s nothing more to argue or request. So based on that, the consensus was for all to move on,” said the PKR leader.
The source said Rafizi’s response at the meeting was in line with Anwar’s intention for PKR to move on with the national congress, and also befitted his stature as someone with knowledge of the election system.
“He (Rafizi) did not suggest to entertain disputes up to the ‘next level’ of checking individual ballots, as that would take longer and goes against the principle of a democracy.
“He (Rafizi) knows that very well,” the source told Malaysiakini.
The source also described Rafizi’s participation in the discussions as “accommodating” and that the issue of his ministerial leave, or deputy presidency challenge, was not raised during the meeting.
Nominations for PKR central election will be opened on May 8 and 9, with voting on the 23rd.
