Another Alleged Graft Video Hits Pbs This Time Against Deputy President
A video has emerged showing businessperson Albert Tei discussing the transfer of RM150,000 with Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) deputy president Jahid Jahim.
The one-minute video, posted on Oct 19 by the whistleblower Telegram channel Edisi Siasat, started with Tei discussing a mining project with the incumbent Tamparuli assemblyperson.
“I went to our place… do you remember? The one with our mining licence for copper and gold, do you remember? The one where your proxy… ‘Andendah’ held 15 percent?” Tei was heard asking Jahid (above), to which the latter replied: “Yeah. Is it ongoing?”
Tei told the politician that initially, the project was ongoing, but there were many issues including forestry.
Tei said that he conveyed this to Jahid as they were business partners, the latter was then seen nodding and saying yes.

Albert TeiTei: I had previously promised to give you some… hundred thousands right?
Jahid: Yeah.
Tei: Before you fell sick, I managed to give you RM150,000 only. Do you remember?
Jahid: I don’t really remember… But it’s okay.
Malaysiakini has contacted Jahid for a response to the video.
Claims first surfaced in June
In the video, Jahid was seen wearing a light teal-turquoise shirt with an abstract batik design.
This was similar to screenshots of a video released to Malaysiakini in late June, in which allegations of the RM150,000 kickback first surfaced.
Jahid had at the time denied any wrongdoing.
In his denial, he stressed that he had nothing to do with any mining scandal and never received any funds related to approving or issuing mining licences in Sabah, as his ministry was not involved in processing such licences.

PBS acting president Dr Joachim GunsalamLast week, Edisi Siasat also released a video showing Tei discussing alleged bribes of RM550,000 with PBS acting president Dr Joachim Gunsalam.
Gunsalam denied wrongdoing and said the money was a political donation.
‘Politically motivated’ allegations
PBS information chief Joniston Bangkuai dismissed the video and the corruption allegations against Jahid and Gunsalam as politically motivated.

PBS info chief Joniston Bangkuai“Our comrades (Gunsalam and Jahid) have explained the matter, and I believe the leadership at all levels, our members and supporters remain with the struggle.
“We deem these (corruption allegations) as politically motivated aimed at weakening the party, and we can’t be affected,” Joniston was quoted as saying by state mouthpiece Sabah Media yesterday. - Mkini
