Ahmad Maslan Urges Young Kemaman Voters To Do Simple Study
KEMAMAN BY-ELECTION | Umno supreme council member Ahmad Maslan has asked young voters to do a simple study before casting their votes at the Kemaman parliamentary by-election on Dec 2.
He went on to claim that all facilities - including education from primary school to university and skill-related areas - are the efforts and services of the BN administration, which is now with the coalition government.
"Young voters, let me give a little insight to those who have just finished school and are (just starting to) vote at the age of 18. Primary and secondary schools as well as the teachers' salaries are all paid by the BN government and the coalition government.
"So PAS did not put in a single sen when it comes to primary or secondary school matters, and not even for the teachers. Not a single sen.
"Not that I wanted to bring up that issue, but I just want to remind the young voters of what PAS has ever done for them. Our service (on the other hand) is clear, (which is) providing all the facilities and education for young people," he said at a press conference at the Mak Chili voting district centre at Kemaman today.
He was commenting on the efforts of the BN and Pakatan Harapan machinery to attract young people to support the BN candidate, Raja Mohamed Affandi Raja Mohamed Noor, who will face PN's Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, in the by-election.
BN’s Kemaman candidate Raja Mohamed Affandi Raja Mohamed NoorAhmad Maslan said young voters need to open their minds and do a little simple research to see which side has merits.
"When youths aged 18 or 19 continue their education at universities, all those universities are run by the federal government.
"Similarly, if they study technical and vocational training (TVET), all those different skills they learn, none of them are provided by PAS," he claimed.
The deputy finance minister added that the federal government is working on the future of the young generation by bringing in investments from within and outside the country.
He pointed out that the federal government was also responsible for making sure the youth had access to good and high-paying jobs. - Mkini
