After Azmin S Sympathy Ginie Lim Says She Is With Harapan
MALACCA POLLS | PKR's Ginie Lim today hit out at her ex-boss Azmin Ali who yesterday expressed his "sympathy" to Lim for being dropped from contesting in the Malacca state election.
In a Facebook post this morning, Lim, who is incumbent Machap Jaya assemblyperson, dismissed the former PKR deputy president's suggestion that she was a victim in PKR.
"Although I was not picked to contest in the state election, I remain committed to the Pakatan Harapan agenda, and am contributing my efforts and ideas on local politics under the leadership of PKR president Anwar Ibrahim," she said.
During an event in Machap yesterday, Azmin, who is the international trade and industry minister, said he was saddened by PKR's decision to drop Lim and urged her to continue fighting.
He claimed that Lim was a victim, who was sidelined for being seen as aligned to him. Azmin was formerly the deputy PKR president before defecting to Bersatu, but Lim did not defect with him.
Lim regarded Azmin's remarks as an attempt to divert attention from real issues involving the people, and that Perikatan Nasional has run out of political issues.
"The loyalty of a reformist activist lies in the party principles, not to any individual. I strongly denounced the Sheraton Move (political coup) for cooperation with kleptocrats and corruptors who have already been rejected by the people in the last general election.
"Although Azmin used to be a PKR deputy president, it is a sad case that someone who claimed to fight for multiracial politics and against corruption for over 20 years, but ended up bowing to racist parties and corruptors.
"It is better if Azmin realises that his party Bersatu is no longer relevant for our country's future." - Mkini
