Activist 48 Hours Action Against Zamri Vinoth Or Hindus Will Launch Massive Yellow Wav Protest
Editor’s Note: Such is the ultimatum issued by political activist Arun Dorasamy who is aghast at the Madani government’s inaction against errant Muslim convert preacher Zamri Vinoth.

ENOUGH is enough. The Hindu community would be forced to embark on a street protest if the authorities fail to take action against controversial Muslim convert preacher Zamri Vinoth.
Such is the warning by political activist Arun Dorasamy who was venting over the firebrand preacher’s re-posting of a controversial remark.
In a nine-minute rant posted on his Facebook page, Arun could barely hide his contempt for Zamri whom – despite having a social media post removed at the behest of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) – has re-posted it.
Claiming it to be “facts”, Zamri has likened Thaipusam kavadi bearers of looking like they were possessed and drunk on toddy. This post had also raised the heckles of MIC Deputy President Datuk Seri M. Saravanan who challenged Zamri to a debate.
In retaliation, Arun has challenged not just the police and MCMC but also PMX Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and even the royalty to put a stop to Zamri’s inflammatory shenanigans.
He further claimed that there were enough laws that can be used to persecute Zamri. As such, he demanded to know why swift action was taken against certain individuals for fanning 3R (race, royalty and religion) sentiments but not Zamri, thus making it look as if there is some instruction to close one eyer on the matter.
Bad blood, rising temperature
For those who missed the train, this entire episode stemmed from the Thaipusam gaffe of three ERA FM deejays who were accused of having mocked the sacred kavadi ritual.
Interestingly, this is not the first time that Arun and Zamri have crossed swords.
In August last year, the Kuala Lumpur High Court had ordered both to pay each other similar sums in damages (RM100,000) for making defamatory statements about one another. Arun had called Zamri “a rapist” while Zamri labelled Arun as “anti-Islam”.
Of course, the current topic has gotten everyone hot under the collar with some netizens asking the Home Minister why no action has been taken against Zamri.
This is despite hundreds of police reports having been lodged and Zamri himself thumbing his nose at the authorities by re-posting that offensive remark.

Some concurred with Arun that street rallies in the likes of “HINDRAF 2.0” were indeed necessary to bring about change.

One netizen pointedly asked where were all the non-Muslim PKR and DAP MPs who were supposed to defend the interests of non-Muslims? Their silence is deafening now that they hold the keys to Putrajaya.

One urged the Hindu community to hurt where it counts – at the polling stations.

However, one netizen asked everyone to see through the smoke as he believed this issue was a diversionary tactic. It keeps people away from focusing on ninth premier Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob’s alleged corruption case, he claimed.

Diversionary or not, the continued lack of action against Zamri sets a dangerous precedent. It is also making a mockery of the many laws that exits to prevent citizens from stirring the hornet’s nest.
Hypocrisy and double standards are never a good look.
