5 Held For Assaulting And Dumping Woman Under Bridge In Banting
Kuala Langat district police chief Ahmad Ridhwan Mohd Nor @ Saleh said three of the suspects tested positive for methamphetamine and cannabis.SHAH ALAM: Police arrested five men believed to have been involved in assaulting, slashing and injuring a woman before throwing the victim under the Kampung Sawah Banting bridge in Selangor.
Kuala Langat district police chief Ahmad Ridhwan Mohd Nor @ Saleh said police received a tip-off from the public last Thursday at 3.25am about shouts for help from under the bridge.
According to Ridhwan, the 52-year-old victim, who is a Malaysian working as a cleaner at a local bank, was rescued by passing members of the public.

Ridhwan said the victim told police the problem started when she confronted several men staying in the same house she was renting.
“She said the men were always making noise and regularly drinking liquor and consuming drugs inside the house.”
Ridhwan said the victim was hit with a cane and slashed with a sharp object. Her assailants later dumped her under the bridge.
Police arrested five local men around Banting on the same day and seized a car and a cane.
Ridhwan said the suspects, in their 30s, had previous criminal records for drug abuse. Three of them tested positive for methamphetamine and cannabis.
