28 New Localities In 5 States Under Emco

The 28 areas will be placed under enhanced restrictions from July 27 to Aug 9.PETALING JAYA: Several locations in Kelantan, Perak, Terengganu, Kedah and Sabah will be placed under an enhanced movement control order (EMCO), from July 27 until Aug 9, according to deputy prime minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
The localities are:
Kelantan
Pekan Selising, Kampung Selising, Kampung Tok Dir, Kampung Pak Omar, Kampung Bukit Bidang and Kampung Bukit Merbau in the Bukit Jawa subdistrict in Pasir Puteh;Kampung Berangan, Kampung Banggol Pak Esah, Kampung Alor Geliong, Kampung Kubang Sawa, Kampung Lubuk Kedondong, Kampung Chat and Kampung Banggol Dollah in the Bukit Abal subdistrict in Pasir Puteh.Perak
Kampung Sg Seputeh, Kampung Teluk Mas, Kampung Garok and Kampung Tapah in the Ulu Selama subdistrict in Larut, Matang and Selama.Terengganu
Kampung Teluk Menara in the Manir subdistrict in Kuala Terengganu.Kedah
Kampung Bukit Malut in Langkawi.Sabah
Kampung Mananam in Tongod, Taman Semarak Megah in Tawau; Kampung Sangkabok in Menumbok; Ladang Belian in Kalabakan; Kampung Pelakat and Kampung Pelakat Paya in Sipitang; Kampung Sumaang in Ranau; and Kampung Batandok and Kampung Menanjung in Beaufort.Ismail added that the EMCO in Kampung Gong Jering in Pasir Puteh, Kelantan, would be extended until Aug 9.
The EMCOs at several places in Sabah will end tomorrow (July 26). These are at Kampung Nahaba in Kota Belud, Jalan Pasir Likas, Taman Kuala Menggatal, Kuarters Tangki Air Biru in Telipok, Borneo Timber in Tongod, Kampung Tebongon in Putatan, Kampung Jempangah and Kampung Rancangan Klias in Beaufort.
Meanwhile, the EMCO at the Damai Apartment in Damansara, Petaling Jaya, Selangor, will end today, earlier than scheduled.
Ismail said the authorities arrested 482 people yesterday for MCO-related offences, with 457 slapped with compound fines, 11 remanded and 14 others released on bail.
He said the authorities also arrested eight foreigners and seized two vehicles in their ongoing Op Benteng.
A total of 49 premises, involving factories, businesses and construction sites, were ordered to close yesterday for breaching MCO rules.
Ismail said the compliance operation task force conducted 82,249 inspections on factories, business premises, construction sites and workers’ hostels. - FMT
