During his Yang Bakar Menteri podcast yesterday, Rafizi said he wanted to remain the party’s number two as he does not want PKR to be filled with “yes-men” or “sycophants”.
However, Zaid claimed that during Rafizi’s time in the Cabinet, he had never spoken up against any of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s policies.
“He says he doesn’t want PKR to be a party where people follow the leader blindly. But for the past two and a half years, hasn’t he been the deputy president? Wasn’t he a yes-man?
“He sat in the Cabinet and didn’t say a word against Anwar or his policies. He was a yes-man too,” Zaid said in the latest episode of his podcast.
“Was he against the subsidies? Did he speak up? What about Petronas-Petros? Did he say anything? Did he voice out on major issues like MACC or anything? No.”
Zaid reasoned that even if Rafizi were to be re-elected as deputy president, his role would remain unchanged.
“Even if he is successful in defending his post, he’ll still be deputy to Anwar. What can he do? There’s nothing he can do. He’ll just be a yes-man for the next two and a half years. Same thing,” he said. - FMT
