Zahid Warns Umno Leaders Not To Dance To Beat Of Enemies

Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has reminded party leaders not to “dance to the beat of their enemies” who are “full of tricks” and rebel against the party.
Despite him not mentioning any names, Zahid is believed to be referring to Communications and Multimedia Minister Annuar Musa who was reported to have said he considered the "PAS leaks" document as something not unusual and did not need to be exaggerated.
“Certainly loyal party members will always be vigilant of every statement, every step, stance and action of their leaders and the leaders of their opponents.
“Loyal party members will ensure that Umno’s own priorities are number one while the concerns of outside parties especially those who have betrayed Umno’s agreements should not be given a place in the party’s priorities.
“When enemies outside Umno are cunning and try to deceive us using various tactics and strategies, we as party people from ordinary members to the division level need to be more prudent in reading the opponent’s movements,” Zahid said on Facebook yesterday.
"Let us not act like the enemies of the foreign party dancing to their beat," he added.
Communications and Multimedia Minister Annuar MusaAnnuar was removed from Umno’s top leadership last year as he was perceived as too close to Umno rivals Bersatu and PAS.
On Thursday, Zahid’s lawyer Hisyam Teh Poh Teik lodged a police report on the 'PAS leak' document which contained allegations of interference in the judicial process.
Hisyam said his client was "shocked" by the contents of the document entitled "report on the political involvement of the central PAS leadership".
The lawyer said the document referred to his client, who is facing a criminal trial on corruption charges in the High Court.
Commenting further, Zahid, who also uploaded Annuar's statement on his Facebook, said that if two statements were against the party's policy, it could be considered a coincidence.
"One or two statements against the party's policy can be considered a coincidence, but if it’s several times that is no longer a coincidence,” he added. - Mkini
