Zahid Umno Is Still Umno
Party president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi in a Facebook post said Umno today is still Umno, fighting for the religion, race and nation. - NSTP/ASYRAF HAMZAHKUALA LUMPUR: Umno today rebutted Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad's claims that the party is no longer as it was before.
Party president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi in a Facebook post said Umno today is still Umno, fighting for the religion, race and nation.
"However, Umno after 2003 no longer belonged to Tun (Dr Mahathir). Umno after 2003, belonged to the people," he said.
In the post, Zahid claimed that Dr Mahathir's trick was to eliminate competitors.
"He claimed that Umno was in support of money when the truth was he was afraid that Umno would rise again and take revenge.

"They jumped after seeing that Umno was unable to give them money."
Zahid said he never intended to insult Dr Mahathir in any statement.
"But I have to insist to show the truth."
Dr Mahathir in a short video posted on Facebook yesterday admitted that he had asked Zahid to disband Umno.
This, the former prime minister had said, was as the Malay party no longer fought for race, nation and religion, but for Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
Dr Mahathir had said the support for Najib was not due to loyalty, but merely for money, adding that after Umno was defeated in the last general election, many of its lawmakers left the party, with some of them joining Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia. - NST
