Zahid To Pas Keep Praying Allah Yet To Open Our Hearts

Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi believes that PAS is “hurting” for not being part of the federal government despite having the most number of parliamentary seats.
Advising PAS not to “daydream”, he said Umno is still not prepared to cooperate with the Islamist party again.
“It must be very painful to have so many seats and still be the opposition.
“So we hope they keep praying not to repeat their kekencingan (deceit) towards Umno again…
“Allah has yet to open our hearts to cooperate with them. We hope that there can be a full stop to their daydreaming,” he told a press conference in Putrajaya today.
Zahid was responding to PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man’s statement about rekindling their past relationship.
However, he said this must be done through the Perikatan Nasional platform, which also includes Bersatu.
Umno and PAS formed the now-defunct Muafakat Nasional after BN’s defeat in the 2018 general election.
However, the alliance unravelled in 2020 when PAS also sought to work with Bersatu in PN.
Umno supreme council member Puad ZarkashiEarlier, Umno supreme council member Puad Zarkashi (above) and the party’s communication director Lokman Noor Adam also shot down Tuan Ibrahim’s proposal.
Puad said Umno should look forward instead of dwelling on the past while Lokman said the party should avoid being “bitten in the same place by a snake twice”.
However, Umno supreme council member Isham Jalil said PAS vice-president Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar could become the prime minister if PN succeeds in wooing Umno again in the next general election.
Samsuri, who is also Terengganu’s menteri besar, was touted as a potential prime minister candidate ahead of the Dec 2 Kemaman by-election, which he won by a landslide.
Samsuri, who holds a PhD in Aero Engine Ignition and Combustion from Leeds University in Britain, also said that he might consider this if given the mandate. - Mkini
