Yoursay Charismatic Is Not How Muhyiddin Is Usually Described
YOURSAY | 'Does KJ actually know what charisma means? Is Muhyiddin magnetic, charming or attractive?'No one in Umno, PAS more charismatic than Muhyiddin to be PM - KhairyGoliath: Frankly, there isn't any leader capable of being prime minister from any of the parties in this backdoor coalition
In this entire fiasco since the Sheraton Move, do you even see a leader that places the country before race and religion, and obtain the proper electoral votes to be the government
Everyone shoeshines the person who will benefit them the most and Muhyiddin Yassin happens to be the flavour of the month. That's not leadership
Constitutional Supremacy: Science, Technology, and Innovation Minister Khairy Jamaluddin, if you do not have a better leader than Muhyiddin, then you all should fold up
You only want to rely on a person who led the coup and trampled on democracy. He has not spoken to press or take questions
He has been only making statements on Covid-19 and at other times meeting PAS, Umno, Bersatu, and Azmin Ali's gang to consolidate power
Hang Babeuf: Charismatic? Muhyiddin? Really
Anyway, as the great, but greatly misunderstood, Max Weber - who started all this ridiculous "charisma-chatter" in modern political analysis - said:"Beware of so-called charismatic leaders! And beware, especially of charismatic wannabes!"That warning and good advice apply here
Myviews: He is saved by the pandemic. There is nothing outstanding about Muhyiddin when dealing with (or is it avoiding?) all other major issues
Is there a forward plan on how to recover the economy of the country? How to handle the millions of jobless? How to handle the increased debts
Simply dishing out money is not the way to solve the problem although it might create a feel-good situation with the people. Of course, the people will say the PM is good because they can get money from the government without having to work
But the money has to be repaid. So how? The only way is to raise taxes on all things, which means, who suffers? You and I
Not only that, because the debt is so huge, but it will also take generations to pay back. That means our children and grandchildren will have to pay by way of taxes. And that their children and grandchildren will also be made to suffer the same fate
Yes, we are talking of billions and trillions. Not millions
The alternative is to print more money, but that would mean the ringgit will eventually go the way of Zimbabwe's currency. Do we want that
Slumdog: According to the definition by Thesaurus, charismatic means magnetic, compelling, alluring, fascinating, captivating, charming, appealing, and enigmatic
So according to Khairy, Muhyiddin is all of these. Really? You got to be kidding me. Is he in the same league as some past or present world leaders? I don't think so
FairMalaysian: I once wrote that if there is one person who could have "reformed" Umno, it would be Khairy but then I also stated that even with his background and education (I am not talking just about his Oxford education) he had no "balls" when it matters. Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman had fared a lot better despite the fact that I believe his chances are somewhat slim
What is also true is that Umno is beyond redemption - it is clearly not a candidate for reformation
Do you still remember how our once Johor Bahru hero Shahrir Samad had boasted that it might be possible to reform Umno from within, but that looks like an over-statement - he was beaten flat by a novice in GE14
Muhyiddin has been clawing back from his Sheraton Move position. He knows and understands the reality but that sticky label seems so difficult to discard. He has been a lucky fortune-hunter personally, but one can't say that much for his party
PAS is not just getting a taste of the bitter medicine. Just like how it has given a new lease to Umno, it has also given a new lease to DAP. The charts were all pointing to a sad finish for DAP come the next GE
But sometimes these politicians forget about the adage that "patience is a virtue" and the seat has become hot enough for the DAP now to deride PAS
PAS has already started counting the chickens before the eggs hatch, which really shows the lack of political acumen and wisdom. It is like the sacrificial lamb at the altar. I hope PAS learns the proverb "still water runs deep"
Salvage Malaysia: We need a nation-building and economy-creating leader. Charisma is a small part of the prerequisite
And my opinion is that Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah is the best PM candidate we never had. Dr Mahathir Mohamad is smart but his whole life, his style of politics is too toxic
Malaysia is regressing further and further behind in terms of education quality, racial unity, economic progress, happiness index, quality of life, etc and etc. Political leaders are taking us to the cleaners
Citizen 5354: If you google the 10 most charismatic leaders at the moment – US President Donald Trump comes out first
Malaysia doesn't need a charismatic leader. We need one who has integrity, is non-corrupt and says he/she is a Malaysian first and not a single race first
Dizzer: Does KJ actually know what charisma means? Is Muhyiddin magnetic, charming or attractive
I know that Umno sets a very low bar for talent but come on, Muhyiddin is charismatic in the same sense that Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor, Najib Abdul Razak or Isa Samad are handsome! - Mkini
