THE Johor crown prince does not understand the concept of a federation, Dr Mahathir Mohamad said today, responding to Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim’s criticism of Pakatan Harapan
The prime minister said Tunku Ismail should have a better understanding of the differences between matters under the purview of the state and federal governments.“The crown prince probably does not understand the concept of a federation. Perhaps, he wasn’t born yet, but I was around at the time.  “We have a list of what falls under the power of the federation, and what falls under the states,” he said after chairing a meeting of the PH presidential council in Kuala Lumpur.
Tunku Ismail, in a Facebook post, said the federal government should “stop fighting among each other and stop politicising every issue”.He called on the PH administration to “please start governing”.Recently, the crown prince took issue with Putrajaya’s stance against turning the Pulau Kukup national park into sultanate land
On the relationship between Johor and his administration, Dr Mahathir said: “He (Tunku Ismail) has no position whatsoever.”In his Facebook post, the crown prince said he is willing to become “public enemy No. 1” if it means standing up for the people
