When A Moron Spins Zahid S Court Case

IT WAS very unbecoming of an article carried by www.theedgemarkets.com to politically linked Zahid Hamid's case with Hishammuddin's 'kawtim' with Dr Mahathir for a lighter sentence. What on earth was the writer trying to do by self-concluding on the former deputy PM High Court charges in Shah Alam?

I dont see any merit for such an article to reach out to readers. It was a blatantly produced to tarnish Zahid and Hisham's image further, knowing that both are buddies in UMNO and the past central administration.

And who could have been the 'sponsor' behind such an article? Did he really follow the court proceedings?

Actually there is no 'amended charges' to Zahid's case. The alternative charges usually is added to the prosecution should they are not convinced that the main charge (which is receiving bribes under Section 16 MACC Act) is justified.

Hence, the alternative charge under Section 165 of the Penal Code (which is accepting valuables as a civil servant) is inserted in the prosecution team as a way to save them from the blushes (should the court justify that no graft element is found).

So, all these are under the court jurisdiction. No politics here that demanded Hisham to beg for a lighter charges and sentence for his friend. If any court proceeding can be politically-adjusted with 'connection' and money, many hardcore criminals would have found mercy in the court of justice.

The question is, why did the writer do so? Does he has a master?

The Shah Alam court noticed that such a alternative charges was made as option by the prosecution because their charges on the possibility of Zahid was on the take, was so loose. In that manner, the Attorney-General Chamber (AGC) amended it to 'receiving valuables as a civil servant' should their bullet on bribery charges is found baseless.

Another thing, bear in mind that there was no request made by Zahid's lawyer team for a lighter charges from the AGC/prosecution team. The prosecutors in fact were on a shaky footings should their charges on graft has no ground to inflict Zahid.

Charges on Zahid were never amended but the alternative charge was added to the initial ones by the prosecution.

So, what 'amended charges' was the writer referring at?

In the midst of internal matter in UMNO where Hisham, Apandi Ali, Lokman Adam and some others are involved with, people out there are trying to be stupidly smart by spinning the court case, with the intention of painting a black picture on their relations.

Furthermore, why must Dr Mahathir's help was sought by Hisham when the latter plays a 'intermediary' role in the government? It is not true that Zahid was offered alternative charges with lighter sentence for overseas visa system case.

Common laaaa bro, use your common sense and some brains when it comes to writing things like this. Unless someone else is buying you a new laptop!
