What Do We Think About The Miami Espresso
Last Monday, the sun shone. It felt as though everything lit up in its afternoon brilliance as the delivery man rang the doorbell and handed us a very curious-looking packaging from Nespresso’s World Explorations series, the Miami Espresso. The box gleamed with a lavish tile-like pattern set with hues of blue. It’s a modest package, but it feels like the party’s about to begin. What will these new espresso beans bring to the party?
Into the Nespresso Machine It Goes
The bright blue capsule fits beautifully into the jet-black Nespresso machine. We closed the lid and pressed the button to make a fresh cup of Miami Espresso. While the Nespresso machine was whirring away, we detected a mild aromatic scent from the capsule as it dispensed a creamy light brown brew into the cup.
And now, for the taste test.
Ohh, it’s so smooth! It’s got light bitter notes with a touch of smokiness, pepper, and creaminess makes it very easy to drink. We read that the intense roasting of Latin American and Caribbean coffees unveiled a dark crema that crowns the cereal, peppery, and tobacco leaf aromas. Nice.
The capsule contains Arabica and Robusta beans coffee and is roasted using the split roasting technique. A 60/40 split with similar dark and short roasts and finished with a fine grind.
As we sipped the coffee, we also learned that this Nespresso flavor is inspired by Miami, a melting pot of traditions and many cultural influences, where drinking coffee is a social affair and a way to celebrate life. It sounds very much like Malaysia, except to us Malaysians, eating and drinking are a way to celebrate life. We think Malaysians will like this Nespresso flavour very much too, especially with finger-licking good creamy espresso buttercream cake.
