In a statement today, Sarawak Water said it anticipated it would take a few days before the system stabilises and the Eco Garden Booster Station operates normally.
“The Eco Garden Booster Station requires daily refilling of its high-level tank to 2.5-3.0 metres using ground tank pumps, which will ensure regular water supply to Eco Garden residents.
“However, the refilling process is more effective during night-time, as water pressure remains low throughout the day. This is due to the distribution system still recovering, and it is not yet fully stabilised,” said Sarawak Water.
It said despite a temporary measure of opening a bypass at the booster station to supply water directly and bypassing the Eco Garden Booster Station, water pressure continued to stay at relatively low levels.
“As of today (Sunday), the current water level in the high-level tank stands at 0.6 metres while the ground tank level is at 1.0 metres. Once the levels of 2.5-3.0 metres are consistently achieved, residents of Eco Garden can expect regular water supply throughout the day,” it said.
Towards this end, Sarawak Water apologised for any inconvenience caused, and assured of staying committed to improving its service. It also thanked consumers for their continued patience and cooperation. — The Borneo Post
