Warisan Plus Launches Manifesto To Develop Sandakan

SABAH POLLS | All seven Warisan Plus candidates in the larger Sandakan area covering three parliamentary constituencies have launched a joint development agenda - "Sandakan Berpadu, Sabah Baharu"
Of the seven candidates, four are incumbents defending their seats - Arunarnsin Taib (N50 Gum Gum), George Hiew (N54 Karamunting), Calvin Chong (N55 Elopura), and Frankie Poon (N56 Tanjung Papat)
The remaining three are newcomers and first time contenders - Mahmud Sudin (N51 Sungai Manila), Armani Mahiruddin (N52 Sungai Sibuga), and Alias Sani (N53 Sekong)
They unveiled their agenda on Malaysia Day with five main goals comprising establishing a full-fledged university campus, improving health care facilities for half a million Sandakan residents, uplifting overall quality of life, creating more job opportunities, and improving the local public transportation network
"In line with the spirit of unity that is the central theme for Warisan Plus parties this state election, on this meaningful day, we are launching a unity vision that marks the 57th Malaysia Day today
"Although there are attempts to separate us according to regions, ethnicity, religion, economic background, education, and culture, the fact is that we all share the same values and concerns as citizens of this country," they said
Among DAP leaders present to support the candidates' campaigns today include Lim Kit Siang, Liew Chin Tong, and Kluang MP Wong Shu Qi
The larger Sandakan area comprises the Sandakan, Libaran, and Batu Sapi parliamentary seats
Under the three parliament seats are seven state seats, of which two - Elopura and Tanjong Papat - were won by the DAP in 2018 when the party contested GE14 under their own banner
George HiewWarisan retained Hiew as the incumbent Karamunting assemblyperson, while Alias was fielded to replace Arifin Asgali
Polling day for the Sabah state elections will be held on Sept 26. - Mkini
