Wan Fayhsal Defends Pas Over Hate Speech Claim Blames Dap Instead
A local influencer has used her platform to raise awareness on Facebook groups said to be promoting indecent content concerning children.
Online personality Mek Yun, whose real name is Wee Yun Nee, took to social media to urge her followers to report such groups, in the hopes that Meta would take strict action.
She also urged authorities, including the police and MCMC, to investigate the issue and put an end to the concerning matter.
Wee said she was first made aware of one such group when numerous followers had alerted her that her image was being circulated in the group.
The image in question featured a younger Wee dressed in a baju kurung school uniform.
Sharing screenshots of the post, Wee said she was "frustrated and disgusted" by the remarks made by the group's members, which numbered around 12,000 at the time.

Online personality Mek Yun"I'm speaking out now because we cannot let this keep happening, and we cannot silence this issue.
"We have to be the voice for the voiceless, like these innocent children," she said in a short video yesterday.
Inappropriate comments
According to the screenshots Wee shared, the group's members had made sexually suggestive remarks towards her photo and multiple other visuals of children, some of whom were dressed in school uniforms.
Some of the inappropriate comments, mostly made in Bahasa Malaysia, also expressed their intention to act in a sexual manner towards children - even minors under their care.
One member even openly admitted to having assaulted a child, blatantly sharing his experience of doing so.
ADSWhile the group Wee mentioned can no longer be found, she cautioned that there are many more like it.
"Paedophiles are hiding in plain sight - and if any of you treat it like it's just a 'weird behaviour', no.
"It's a crime. It's dangerous. It destroys lives... We need to protect these children," she said in an Instagram story late last night.
Malaysiakini has reached out to the police for comments on the matter. - Mkini
