Unity Govt To Hold 3 Day Event To Celebrate 1 Year In Power

Anwar Ibrahim (centre) was appointed Malaysia’s 10th prime minister on Nov 24 last year.PETALING JAYA: The unity government will hold a three-day event to commemorate the Anwar Ibrahim administration’s first year in power.
The event named “One Year with the Madani Government” will be held at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Kuala Lumpur from Dec 8 to 10.
It will be jointly organised by a unit under the Prime Minister’s Office and the Malaysia Productivity Corporation.
“The event aims to promote the new policies and initiatives introduced for the people, raise public awareness and understanding of the government’s direction and goals, and build the people’s confidence and trust in the government.
“This event also involves strategic cooperation with various ministries and agencies, GLCs, NGOs, the private sector and other stakeholders,” the event’s secretariat said in a statement.
Anwar was appointed Malaysia’s 10th prime minister on Nov 24 last year after the 15th general election led to a hung Parliament.
He obtained the majority support to form the government after being backed by MPs from Pakatan Harapan, Barisan Nasional, Gabungan Parti Sarawak, Gabungan Rakyat Sabah, Warisan and others.
The event’s secretariat said the three-day function will showcase the Madani government’s achievements so far, “touchpoint services” rolled out for the people and other initiatives aimed at ensuring Malaysians’ welfare.
It said the event will feature engagement sessions between the public and ministry officials, “Mega Madani” sales and others.
Anwar will officiate the event on Dec 10, with other top leaders in the federal government to be in attendance, too.
It will be held from 9am to 10pm on the three days. - FMT
