Umno Veteran Says Ticket To Heaven Greatest Bribe Of All

STATE POLLS | Umno veteran Abdul Rahman Dahlan has accused PAS of being “the best” at offering “bribes” to voters.
According to the former Kota Belud MP, PAS often told their supporters that a vote for PAS would bring them closer to heaven.
Speaking to some 300 people at a Pakatan Harapan-BN rally in Dengkil, Selangor last night, Rahman said the people of Sarawak and Sabah consistently rejected PAS because of how they abuse race and religion.
“PAS is not an Islamic party. They are a political party. They indulge in bribery without us realising it. They are offering the ‘best’ political bribe because they promise a ticket to heaven.
“In Sabah and Sarawak, we cannot accept PAS and Bersatu because they only talk about race and religion,” he said.
Rahman said although the Federal Constitution can be amended, there are four things that would forever remain permanent, thus making Perikatan Nasional’s concerns moot.
“These four things are Islam as the religion of the federation, Malay as the national language, the rights of the Malay rulers, and the special position of the bumiputera,” he added.
Despite this, Rahman said PN is fixated on issues concerning race and religion because those are the only weapons they have to undermine the present federal government.
The former lawmaker was stumping for BN’s Noorazli Said, who will be representing the Harapan-BN pact for the Dengkil seat.
Dengkil has consistently been a BN seat until 2018, when it was wrested away by Bersatu’s Adhif Syan Abdullah. - Mkini
