Umno Sees Pas As Scabies End Cooperation Now Terengganu Delegate

Bukit Rakit assemblyperson Bazlan Abd Rahman has urged Umno not to be afraid of immediately ending their cooperation with PAS under Muafakat Nasional (MN) as it is clear PAS themselves no longer wants to continue working with Umno.
Umno should not continue to linger on in this cooperation, he said, as PAS to Umno is just like “scabies that will become cancerous” that should be removed as soon as possible.
“At the grassroots level of Umno in Terengganu, they clearly want MN to end. To them, what is the point of keeping these scabies that will become cancerous?
“If we already know this disease is fatal, why are we still delaying curing it? The miracle cure would be to end our political relationship with PAS. End MN immediately. That is what PAS is waiting for themselves.
“So why should we be afraid? If the plate is not cracked, the rice would not be cold. People do not want (us), we also do not want (them),” Bazlan said while debating Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s policy speech at the Umno general assembly at Kuala Lumpur World Trade Centre (WTC KL) today.
Elaborating on the situation in Terengganu, Bazlan said Umno had faced PAS there for the past three generations and the scars left by PAS is still felt to this day.
Not recognised
He said, although Umno has one-third of the seats in the Terengganu state government, it seems as if Umno is not recognised by the PAS-led state government even though they still have administration over the constituencies represented by Umno.
Bazlan also slammed PAS on the distribution of positions and allocations that should have been channelled to Umno elected representatives, which were instead sent to areas under PAS’ administration.
“That is some of our experiences with MN in Terengganu. As such, is the MN still relevant?
“That is why Terengganu Umno chairperson Ahmad Said has consistently reminded the leadership to beware of PAS’ tricks.
“Like a flower shedding its petals, like honey that has run out of sweetness, MN is now only in name.
“Cheating behaviour”
“When lost, it is not sought; when sick, it is not treated; when used up, it is not replaced. All this is due to the cheating behaviour of PAS which is now getting along with Bersatu through Perikatan Nasional (PN),” Bazlan said.
His calls were also echoed by Puteri Umno chief Zahid Zarik Khan who had openly said ‘sayonara’ to PAS.
PAS and Umno had formalised their cooperation through MN in September 2019. However, their relationship had become increasingly tense due to PAS’ tendencies to cooperate with Bersatu, which Umno is opposed to.
Unlike the previous year, PAS has acknowledged that they were not invited to this year’s Umno general assembly. - Mkini
