Two Pkr Women Leaders Seen As Pro Azmin Pledge Loyalty To Party

Two Selangor PKR Women leaders, seen to be aligned to former PKR deputy president Azmin Ali, have declared they will remain loyal to the party after the departure of their colleague Sementa assemblyperson Daroyah Alwi
They are Bukit Melawati assemblyperson Juwairiya Zulkifli (above, right) and Selangor PKR Women deputy chief Sangetha Jayakumar (above, left)
However, Lembah Jaya assemblyperson Haniza Talha, who has been suspended from her PKR Women chief post, is notably absent from a list of signatories to a joint statement issued this afternoon
The other signatories are Batu Tiga assemblyperson Rodziah Ismail - a former political secretary to then PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail - Permatang assemblyperson Rozana Zainal Abidin and 18 women's wing division chiefs
"We the Selangor PKR Women elected representatives and the state women's wing leadership including 18 women's wing division chiefs pledge to remain loyal to the party," they said in the joint statement
Daroyah (above) had announced her decision together with 48 others to leave PKR at a press conference in Shah Alam this afternoon
The remaining PKR Women leaders today said they were not surprised by the announcement which brings the number of PKR elected representatives in Selangor down to 18
"The Selangor PKR women's wing takes note of the decision by Daroyah who is also the state women's wing chief to leave the party
"The decision was expected and we are ready to continue the reform agenda and defend the Selangor state government," they said
"Leaders come and go but our aim will never waver and our remaining leadership has the quality to continue driving us forward under the administration of (PKR president) Anwar Ibrahim and (Selangor Menteri Besar) Amiruddin Shari at federal and state levels," they added
PKR had launched a purge of its leaders and members after the Sheraton Move in February which saw Azmin, as then party deputy president, leading a list of 11 MPs who defected to form the new Perikatan Nasional government. - Mkini
