Malaysian creators recognised for their outstanding achievements in bringing positive impact and inspiration to the local community

TikTok, the leading destination for short-form mobile video, returned with the highly anticipated TikTok Awards Malaysia 2024, celebrating the diverse Malaysian creator community and their myriad of talents, evidenced through their creative content.



Hosted at Dewan Merdeka, World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur, this year's award ceremony brought together top Malaysian creators, celebrities, and fans for an unforgettable night. Themed “Celebrating New Dreams”, this year’s TikTok Awards aimed to highlight and recognize the diverse and rich cultural tapestry of Malaysia, showcasing inspiring content that resonates both locally and globally.

The evening was nothing short of spectacular, with legendary host, Che Puan Sarimah Ibrahim and the bubbly Janna Nick steering the event on the main stage that also featured well-loved Malaysian celebrities and creators including Shaheizy Sam, Bella Astillah, Sophia Albarakbah, Erra Fazira, Tan Kian Meng, Imran Aqil, Aina Abdul and Faizal Tahir. Ahead of the main show, red carpet hosts, TikTok creators Ceddy Ang and Ain Edruce brought a touch of glamour as they welcomed the attendees decked in their star-studded renditions of their WOWdest dreams, whereas Daniel Fong and Eima Safuan, also a former TikTok Awards nominee for Best of Fashion and Beauty captured special moments backstage.

The night's biggest winners
TikTok Awards Malaysia 2024 was presented in two main segments: People's Choice Awards, which allowed fans to vote for their favorite creators in each category; and Judge's Pick Awards, where winners were selected by an executive panel comprising Media Prima Television Networks and Primeworks Studios Chief Executive Officer, Nini Yusof, TikTok Awards Malaysia 2023 Creator of the Year winner, Khairul Aming, and TikTok General Manager - Content Operations, Southeast Asia, Angga Anugrah Putra.

In addition to this, TikTok Malaysia also awarded two creators, @lokohopunohgroup and @braderwheelchair for its new award category - Changemaker of the Year, a special category which honors creators who have made a significant impact to the society through their platforms. @lokohopunohgroup was recognized for stepping up and inspiring the youth to maintain waste management in Terengganu, significantly contributing to a cleaner and healthier environment, while @braderwheelchair was honored for advocating the empowerment of the differently-abled community. This award underscores TikTok's commitment to supporting creators who drive change in Malaysia.

Beyond this, the stage was lit up with captivating performances by Zubir Khan, Ezra Kairo, Sarah Suhairi, Alfie Zumi, Amir Jahari, Aisha Retno, Aina Abdul, Naim Daniel, MUAH, Faizal Tahir, Wani Kayrie, and Afieq Shazwan. Their performances of trending songs that have flooded the platform brought immense joy to the audience, making the award show an unforgettable night as fans watched their favorite hits come to life on stage. The mix of traditional fusion, power ballads, and even multi-lingual hits encapsulated the celebration of Malaysia's diverse talents.
