They Want To Kill Zahid Softly
JUST three days after Chini by-election which saw Barisan Nasional's candidate Sharim Md Zain thumping victory by beating two Independents, some UMNO leaders had yet to stop ringing their own bell by claiming how they contributed to it.
Accolades of praises rose for few big heads holding ministerial and GLC positions. No mentioning of the president Zahid Hamidi at all. Even Sharim in his earlier FB posting after made a YB 'dropped' Zahid's name for no reason.
Last week also saw how a group of UMNO leaders put so much interest in naming the next prime minister after the 15th general election, also without Zahid's name. There are Hishammuddin's, Tengku Razaleigh, Mohamad Hasan, Ismail Sabri and others. They were so enticed with Perikatan Nasional, with PM Muhyiddin Yassin.
There was a chart produced to support their prophecy. I dunno whether they were together in preparing it, maybe yes and maybe no. But one or two of them had made a public statement about the probable lineup, boasting about their position in the next Cabinet. To them, UMNO is theirs, others should shut up to their whim and fancy.
What is this? I still don't want to believe they were the ones behind it but my inner feeling suggested otherwise. There must be a culprits at the top who thought Zahid will meet his political demise soon. While Zahid was adamant in staying out of the 'Who Is The Next PM' polemic, almost everybody was of the general perception that he was seeing the exit door.
Blast you! UMNO is not yours to run according to your thumb. If you take Zahid as the party president, then you won't come up with such stinking statements. Unless it was a grand design to topple him, then I think it will be better if you quit UMNO and join whatever parties you wish.
I wonder if they considered themselves decision-makers in the government. They are giving a picture that Zahid never existed, and that a president is no longer needed in UMNO. My question is, are they still with UMNO because if they are still, they would have not taken Zahid for a ride.
Greed for power. So much of accusing Dr Mahathir, Anwar and Pakatan Harapan trying to unseat Muhyiddin, they too are worst still!
Zahid seems to remain a stumbling block to them. Sad to say how these leaders were showing their true colors when Zahid was doing all his best to consolidate the party unity, and with PAS in Muafakat Nasional, after the GE14 defeat.
Who presides UMNO now? Tell me! Either one of you, perhaps! Zahid was elected overwhelmingly in July 2018. If you want to lead the party, why didn't you contest the seat back then? Simply, you people are coward and a stinking lump of a manure!
Now, back to Chini. After 6-day of being there, meeting and visiting leaders at all levels and ushering voters for him, Sharim became a bit stuck-up after winning. Was he advised by someone, perhaps? He has forgotten where he came from and how he rose to become an state assemblyman. Let me label him as 'lupa cawat!" (ungrateful).
Or, is Zahid's court case has bearing on those leaders and our new YB? Then, may as well they join the rest of the critics that presumed Zahid is guilty. In other words, they better play God and predict their own political march!
I just hope Zahid will hold on to his horses until UMNO prepares the list of candidates for GE15. Let's see who comes reeling and play chummy with him for nomination. He needs to use his rights as a party president, not to bow out to pressure and stay alert on who his friends and foes are.
Even some familiar faces who disappeared two years ago are beginning to flock the Jalan Duta High Court of late. What for? You better vanish for good!
