Terengganu Mb Ordered To Undergo Quarantine
COVID-19 | Terengganu Menteri Besar Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar has been instructed by the Terengganu health director to undergo a 14-day quarantine.
His political secretary Muhyidin Abdul Rashid said this was because Samsuri (above) has been identified as a close contact of two Covid-19 patients several days ago, whom he did not name.
“For information, the menteri besar has undergone a Reverse Transcription-Polymerase Chain Reaction test for Covid-19 which was negative, and would need to undergo another test on the 13th day (of quarantine).
“However, the menteri besar will chair the state exco meeting on Sept 30 through video conferencing,” Muhyidin said in a statement today.
Previously, several politicians tested positive for Covid-19 amid the Sabah state election, and more have been ordered to undergo quarantine.
Samsuri’s social media posts showed that he too had been campaigning in Sabah earlier this week.
So far, at least two people are publicly known to have been infected with Covid-19 while participating in the Sabah state election campaign.

They are Umno supreme council member Mohd Razlan Rafii and Umno Youth deputy chief Shahril Hamdan.
In addition, BN secretary-general Annuar Musa, Umno's Lumadan candidate Kamarlin Ombi and Sindumin candidate Sani Miasin, as well as Warisan's Sindumin candidate Dr Yusof Yacob, were also ordered to undergo quarantine after coming into contact with Razlan.
According to Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah today, 10 Covid-19 cases since Sept 20 have involved returnees who were travelling in Sabah. - Mkini
