Stay Out Of Malay Seats Tasek Gelugor Pas Youth Warns Lau
Tasek Gelugor PAS Youth has warned Gerakan president Dominic Lau to stay out of "Malay seats" in the Penang constituency.
The division youth wing's vice-chief Mohamad Ikhwan Afiq Mohamad Anwar warned that if Lau remained stubborn, they would launch an independent movement to torpedo him and that Bersatu would also end up being collateral damage.
"We are giving a stern warning to Lau: if he still pushes to contest in a Malay seat, we - together with the entire machinery - will launch a huge procession for an independent candidate in Telok Ayer Tawar and Permatang Berangan on nomination day," Mohamad Ikhwan Afiq said in a statement on Facebook yesterday.
Telok Ayer Tawar and Permatang Berangan are two of the three state seats under the Tasek Gelugor parliamentary constituency.
Mohamad Ikhwan Afiq (above) indicated that there are plans to field a Gerakan candidate in Telok Air Tawar and a Bersatu candidate in Permatang Berangan.
Gerakan president Dominic LauHe said the Tasek Gelugor PAS Youth will mobilise voters to defeat both candidates if their demands against Lau go unheeded.
"Don't ever play with fire, as you will get burned. Don't challenge PAS Youth's patience!" he declared.
The Tasek Gelugor parliamentary seat was won by Perikatan Nasional's Wan Saiful Wan Jan in the 15th general election with 46.4 percent of the votes.
Of the state seats under the constituency, two seats - Permatang Berangan and Sungai Dua - have BN incumbents, while Telok Ayer Tawar has a PKR incumbent.
