Status Quo In N Sembilan After Anwar Meets With State Pkr
The status quo for the Negeri Sembilan state government and PKR leadership will be maintained - with some "adjustments" - after PKR president Anwar Ibrahim met with state party leaders today.
Menteri Besar Aminuddin Harun - who also leads the state PKR - had come under threat after four assemblypersons and 11 party leaders declared a loss of confidence in him after allegedly failing to strengthen the party.
However, the situation seems to have been brought under control.
The four assemblypersons Ismail Ahmad (Labu), M Ravi (Sri Tanjung), Mohamad Rafie Ab Malek (Ampangan) and Michael Yek (Chuah), sat together with Anwar and Aminuddin at a press conference today, where it was made clear there wasn't going to be a major reshuffle.
"I asked for Aminuddin to remain as (state PKR) chairperson," Anwar said.

He said there were some views aired about how to strengthen the party, but that the matter of the menteri besar post did not arise.
"Everyone gave firm support (to Aminuddin) and the state party leadership.
"What had arisen was for the menteri besar to give some attention to the needs of the party and its divisions to strengthen its machinery for the next general election," the PKR president told reporters.
He said the Negeri Sembilan PKR had also committed to work together as a team, but that there were some "adjustments" made to the state's political bureau.
Yesterday, Yusof Tapar was sacked as Negeri Sembilan PKR information chief, but it is not clear if any other changes have been made.
The unrest in Negeri Sembilan PKR had previously threatened to destabilise the state government.
