Some Feedback About The Sungai Bakap By Elections
The Sungai Bakap state constituency has a population of 56,000+ people of whom 39,000 are registered voters. So only 30% of the population is below 18 years?
The voter demographics is :
Malay (59.36%)
Chinese (22.54%)
Indian (17.39%)
This is about the racial make up of most constituencies in the west coast of the Semenanjung from Penang to Johor.
The Sg Bakap by-election recorded a total voter turnout of 63.45%. Kuala Kubu by election turnout was 61%.
70% of the Malay voters came out to vote. Only 58% of Indians came out to vote Chinese were the lowest at only 47% turnout.MALAY VOTE : The Malay vote was solid for the PN.
Meaning both UMNO and the PKR have lost the Malay vote quite permanently. UMNO is dead. Even if Zahid Hamidi is replaced as party president UMNO is still dead. Too late.
The Malays also do not support PKR. And the Malays also do not like Shakespeare as well. I think the Malays are not only highly suspicious of what are PKR and Shakespeare's agenda for the Malays but no one can fathom what are their true intentions at all. I am talking about all Malaysians.
So for the Malays, the PKR and Shakespeare are just like rotting fish.
And this situation will not change, most likely forever.
Someone said recently that "manifestos" by political parties will not be trusted anymore by the people. No one trusts 'manifestos' by any political party. A manifesto is just used toilet paper. Of course the present crop has soiled their manifestos to the max. Their shit really stinks.
CHINESE VOTE : However there was a significant techtonic shift in Sg Bakap. Less than half the Chinese came out to vote (47%). This morning (Sunday 7/7) I received this comment about the Penang Chinese:
"Its day 4 in Penang, and wherever I go and ask the Penangites about Shakespeare and PH, the response is the same by the Penang ‘lang’. It’s not flattering when the usual response are the three and six syllable Hokkien cuss words and expletives. Mind you, Hokkien cuss words are the “Ferrari” of the Chinese expletes and only a true blood Penang ‘lang’ can spew it perfectly. While Rafizi or Fadhlina gets a three star spew, the six star full rage is reserved for Shakespeare. That is now the overwhelming angst of the Chinese which is building towards a crescendo."
Some Penang folks say that the ongoing political tussle between Lim Guan Eng and the Chow Kon Yeow gang in Penang has cost the DAP the Sg Bakap election. Obviously the tussle is about how to slice the cake.
Najib was kicked out in 2018 not only because of the 1MDB scandal but because of the really poorly thought and foolish GST that killed the economy.
The Pakatoons are simply killing the economy with their topsy turvy policy decisions like the
sudden withdrawals in fuel subsidiesridiculous hikes in power tariffsthe still mysterious and inexplicable rate hike by Bank Negara Malaysiaand next is the greatest bungle of all the "electronic-invoicing" fiasco.
Indeed folks, our next stop is the Twilight Zone.
"the usual response are the three and six syllable Hokkien cuss words and expletives" is not unique to Penang alone. I think most Chinese around the country are getting fed up. May I express my gratitude in advance to the Chinese people.
