Sharing On Online Usrah Sessions In January
Assalamualaikum,
Last night I attended the second session of online usrah with my usrah friends from UTM. The usrah whatsapp group has been silent for the past 2 years with very minimal posting since most of us have completed our studies, back for good and pursuing careers in other places. So last 2 weeks, our naqibah, Kak Amy had suggested to do online usrah for those who have the time so at least we can keep updated with each others and remind each other like what we used to do while we were in UTM. After some discussion, we decided to choose either Friday or Saturday night from 9pm to 11pm for the weekly session.
Our 1st online usrah session, we ponder the verse from Chapter Yunus (7-20)
I chose to elaborate on verse number 11 where Allah mentions,
(Yunus 10:11)
I shared with the group that for me, the verse is both a reminder and a warning for us who have been negligent in our responsibilities as a muslim. For example, when we pray to Allah, we always ask for all the good things that we can think of and we want it fast. During this pandemic, i am sure that those who have been tested with losing job and retrenchment have been praying for one so that they can support and feed their family, praying for it desperately and they need it to happen immediately.
But what we often take for granted is that when we think of doing sins, and we are aware that the sins will lead us to hellfire, the thought that Allah will immediately punish us as fast as we want Allah to accept and raise our du'a did not cross our mind, apparently.
It is indeed a shameful act, for us the servant when we dont take things seriously about all the warnings that our Lord has mentioned in the AQ.
All in all, what i can conclude from everyone's sharing on the first usrah session is that, STOP BEING SELFISH. We only think of God in bad times, and we forget Him in good times. But we often deny that we forget Him during good times as we pray 5 times a day and we commit with both the fardhu and the sunnah. But what we often missed out is when the call to do sins with our eyes, ears and mouth, we try to justify them in our hearts that they are ok. Indeed, it's the small sins that makes us such an arrogant servant.
Our 2nd online usrah session, we ponder on verses in Surah Al-Imran (174-186).
I elaborated on verse number 181 where the verse mentions that the kufur said Allah is fakir and they are the wealthy ones. Subhanallah.
The verse makes me wonder why on earth did the kufur said those things to Allah, so i refer to the Tafsir Ibn Katsir where,
Sa`id bin Jubayr said that Ibn `Abbas said, "When Allah's statement,
(Who is he that will lend to Allah a goodly loan so that He may multiply it to him many times)
(2:245) was revealed, the Jews said, `O Muhammad! Has your Lord become poor so that He asks His servants to give Him a loan' Allah sent down this verse (3:181)
(Indeed, Allah has heard the statement of those (Jews) who say: "Truly, Allah is poor and we are rich!'') (3:181).''
This Hadith was collected by Ibn Marduwyah and Ibn Abi Hatim.
So when i read the tafsir, i understood that the kufur, they make fun of Allah's statement in the AQ based on surah al-Baqarah verse number 245, and they are being cynical and arrogant jerk by saying those to the Lord who created them.
All in all, the discussion last night was mostly on trials and tribulations in life that we have to endure while perceiving it positively by putting all of our hopes and believe in our creator. A lot of sharing from everyone with regards to the trials they have to put through. If we put our problems bigger that Allah, we will be distanced from Him, He will not send us the helps that we need. But if we put our faith in Him and we endure it patiently, He will reward us with healing, increase in our faith, iman and the sweetness of trials in the dunia. I got goosebumps hearing stories shared during usrah when her friend lost her trust in Allah when she was tested in this life. We also discuss about trials that lead to depression, sihir and jins. Since i have been binge-watch Pusat Rawatan al Idrus for the past 2 weeks in Youtube and Facebook, i shared with them on what I have learnt so far and how sadness will open the door for the jins to enter our body. Alhamdulillah, i used to have depression back then, but now i am totally healed as i know how to handle the problems already. Alhamdulillah for the syifa' that He gave me.
Our first usrah session in 2021
Driving to and fro workplace, I always ask Allah to give me the strength to face the trials and tribulations in life as much as how He created the mighty sky above me. And for Him make my soul as beautiful as He created the colors of the sky so beautiful in my eyes.
Sunday, my freelance mode is ON and I have to work for it and attend properties webinar at night
Wassalam~
