Shahidan More Than Toll Abolition Needed To Aid The People

SEMENYIH POLLS | Former Perlis Menteri Besar Shahidan Kassim claimed that the Pakatan Harapan government needs to do more than abolishing tolls and giving out RM100 as cash aid for students to win the hearts of the people, especially the Semenyih voters
"The Harapan government has yet to solve many problems pertaining to the people
"In a situation where there is now 'a wave of dissatisfaction' among the people, the government cannot win them by offering to abolish highway tolls and giving out RM100," Shahidan told the media yesterday
He said this when met at a programme attended by former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak in Kajang yesterday
Shahidan explained that the government needs to create "a wave" to overcome that wave of dissatisfaction
"When the government reverted the GST to SST, that's what I meant by a wave. It needs to come out with another wave, for instance, reducing the price of goods by 20 percent or reintroducing BR1M with an additional RM100… these are waves."Shahidan, who was charged with molesting a teenager last year, described the Harapan government as "the wave expert" for having dethroned the BN in last year's 14th general election
"A wave befell the Barisan Nasional, which led to its defeat. But now people have created a wave against the government. If it wants to win, it has to create a new wave," he said
Former Felda chairperson Mohd Isa Abdul Samad was also spotted at the event
Asked whether he was there to campaign for the BN in the March 2 Semenyih by-election, Isa refused to respond, only saying that he was there "to watch a football match and coincidentally at the same location, Najib attended a programme"
Isa quipped that he did not know if he's still an Umno member
"I tendered my resignation (last year), but I don't know whether they (Umno) accepted it or not. I am here not to campaign, but to watch a football match," he added. - Mkini
