Sg Buloh Hospital Gears Up For Another Covid 19 Wave

COVID-19 | Hospitals in Selangor have been told to brace themselves to receive non-Covid-19 patients from the Sungai Buloh Hospital.
Selangor health director Dr Sha'ari Ngadiman had reminded all hospitals in the state of this in a letter dated Oct 2.
"This department has urged the Sungai Buloh Hospital to prepare for a change of status from 'hybrid Covid-19 hospital' to 'full Covid-19 hospital'.
"We hope you will cooperate to ensure clinical services are not affected and operate smoothly," said Sha'ari in a letter sighted by Malaysiakini.
The Sungai Buloh Hospital was the designated Covid-19 hospital back in March.
At the time of writing, Malaysiakini has not received a response to a request for comments from the Sungai Buloh Hospital's director's office nor from the Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
New Covid-19 cases in the Klang Valley have been rising of late, with many cases attributed to recent returnees from Sabah. The East Malaysian state has seen fresh outbreaks in Tawau, Lahad Datu, Kunak, and the tourist town of Semporna.
In the past three days, Malaysia has seen record highs in new Covid-19 cases and several recent Covid-19 related deaths, sparking fears that a new wave of infections was imminent, possibly affecting more lives and threatening to shutter the economy again.
As of noon yesterday, none of Selangor's nine districts recorded more than 40 cases, which would warrant a "red zone" status.
Several active "red zones" in Kedah and Sabah have been subjected to strict lockdown measures, mandating stay-at-home orders, and business closures. - Mkini
