"We arrested him on April 11 and he was remanded for five days
"We applied for a two-day remand extension before he was released on bail on April 18
"When the suspect was produced at the Klang Sessions Court on April 29, he showed up and it was still within the police bail period," he told reporters on Tuesday (May 5)

"On April 30, the suspect was charged with rape at the Petaling Jaya Sessions Court. The court set bail at RM27,000, and he paid the amount
"The issue of the suspect not in handcuffs was because he was not produced in court while in police custody but went there under police bail
"I urge the public to stop questioning police actions on this issue. I can assure you that we will abide by the standard operating procedure and will not give preferential treatment to anyone in carrying out our duties," he said
On April 29, Insp Hazrul Hizham Ghazali, 30, claimed trial to two charges under Section 13 of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants Act
He was accused of using his position to sexually exploit two Mongolian women, aged 20 and 36
The next day, he claimed trial to eight counts of rape, involving both women
He also pleaded not guilty to a charge of using criminal force on one of the victims
