Sanusi Should Apologise To Selangor Sultan Says Royal Council Member
Selangor Council of the Royal Court member Emran Kadir speaking to the media after lodging a police report against Kedah menteri besar Sanusi Nor at a police station in Shah Alam today.SHAH ALAM: Kedah menteri besar Sanusi Nor should issue a public apology to the Sultan of Selangor for remarks he made regarding the appointment of Selangor’s menteri besar, says a member of the Selangor Council of the Royal Court.
Emran Kadir said that Sanusi’s comments were an insult as the sultan has the prerogative to appoint the menteri besar for Selangor.
“He (Sanusi) made the remarks openly at a public event. If he said it in private, there would be no need for a public apology. But he must apologise as soon as possible because (his) statement has gone viral on YouTube,” Emran said.
“It is as if he is saying that the Sultan had appointed someone incompetent. The Sultan can appoint whoever he wants as long as the appointee is from the party with the most seats in the state legislative assembly.
“(Selangor menteri besar) Amirudin Shari is a party leader who holds the confidence of the majority at the state assembly. So why should Sanusi question this,” Emran told reporters after lodging a report against Sanusi at a police station here.
At a recent ceramah, Sanusi allegedly insulted the Sultan by appearing to question his choice of Amirudin as the menteri besar.
On Wednesday, Inspector-General of Police Razarudin Husain said the police had opened investigation papers into Sanusi.
Earlier today, he said that 31 police reports had been lodged against Sanusi as of 11am.
He said investigations are being conducted by a special team from Bukit Aman focusing on the 3Rs of race, religion, and royalty. - FMT
