Sabah Scandal More Damning Evidence To Be Submitted
The whistleblower behind the Sabah corruption scandal is preparing to unleash even more damning evidence to the MACC, which continues to await the crucial forensic report on the explosive video recordings submitted on March 11.
ADSAccording to a press invitation issued by his lawyer, Mahajoth Singh, the 36-year-old businessperson will submit the new evidence to MACC headquarters in Putrajaya at 3.30pm tomorrow.
Malaysiakini has learned that the evidence - a trove spanning some 200 pages - meticulously details the trail of money and documents at the heart of the scandal.
Sources say the documents also expose the alleged appointment of proxies as shareholders in companies seeking mineral exploration licences.

He further claimed that these politicians demanded to be installed as shareholders through proxy arrangements to conceal their involvement.
Since November, the businessperson has unleashed a stream of secretly recorded videos of his meetings with assemblypersons, along with a flood of WhatsApp messages exposing their alleged dealings.
Urged not to speculate
On April 22, MACC chief commissioner Azam Baki revealed that the forensic report on the videos remains pending, though he assured it is expected to be completed soon.
“As I mentioned during a press conference in Sabah a few weeks ago, eight individuals have been summoned to provide their statements, including one involving a new case currently under investigation,” he said.

The MACC chief commssioner urged all parties to be patient and to refrain from speculating, amid mounting accusations that authorities and the government are attempting to cover up the scandal.
During a press conference on March 10, Azam’s predecessor Latheefa Koya described the videos as “clear evidence” of corruption.
She also claimed the businessperson received threats from someone “higher up” who discouraged him from engaging with the MACC.
Previously, Malaysiakini reported that the businessperson - who is also under investigation for allegedly being part of a cartel seeking to monopolise mining in Sabah - possesses additional videos, although it remains unclear whether he plans to release them.
Meanwhile, Sabah Chief Minister Hajiji Noor, who is bracing for a state election in the coming months, has accused the businessperson of colluding with vested interests to destabilise his administration. - FMT
