Rumblings Of Discontent In Kedah Pn Over Exco Posts

All does not appear to be well in Kedah Perikatan Nasional.
The state government is expected to swear in its exco line-up tomorrow (Monday), but Bersatu is reportedly unhappy with the planned arrangements.
Citing sources, Berita Harian reported that Bersatu is only due to get three exco positions, which is a downgrade from before.
"We were very disappointed when we were informed we will only get three exco posts, even though we were given five exco positions in the previous term and the state legislative speaker post.
"We don't want what is happening in Kelantan and Terengganu where only one exco post was given to Bersatu in each state, even though we worked together for PN in those states," the source was quoted as saying.
Malaysiakini's attempts to get confirmation from Kedah Bersatu were unsuccessful, with a source indicating he was not allowed to speak.
PAS’ Muhammad Sanusi Md NorKedah Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor has also not responded to requests for comment.
Berita Harian reported that the Bersatu trio that would get appointed are Halimat Shaadiah Saad (Bukit Kayu Hitam), as well as Dzowahir Ab Ghani (Suka Menanti) and Mohd Salleh Saidin (Kubang Rotan).
Supermajority
In last week's six state elections, PN won 33 out of 36 state seats in Kedah - giving it a supermajority in the state assembly.
Of these seats, Bersatu won 11, up from the five they held prior to the polls.
Gerakan also won one seat, which Sanusi indicated may be given one exco post.
PAS won 21 seats, which Kedah PAS chief Ahmad Yahaya described as a historic feat.

Only 19 seats are needed to form a government in Kedah.
PN came to power in Kedah in 2020 after Bersatu assemblypersons defected from Pakatan Harapan to back PAS in forming a new state government. - Mkini
